The Impact of Globalization on Germany Essay - 4111 Words

Globalization is currently shaping the world in which we live. It is based on the precept that the world is becoming a smaller place to live. This shrinkage, so to speak, does not refer to actual land area, but rather to the space that exists between the differing peoples of the world. Globalization occurs through the unification of different nations around the world by either blending socially, culturally, politically, or economically. Social , Cultural, and Political Globalization occur when people from different nations, cultures, or walks of life come into contact with one another, and in the process, close the gap that exists between different groups of people or differing ideologies. These types of Globalization have been able to†¦show more content†¦This paper will present a brief history of Globalization and its processes, focusing primarily on the Economic Globalization that is occurring in Europe, particularly the Economic Globalization of Germany. It is apparent that technological advancements have played an intricate role in facilitating the process of Globalization. Although it can be said that Globalization has been occurring slowly through out the course of history, it can also be said that in recent times this has certainly become a more global community. The process of Globalization has become more evident, particularly after the end of the cold war (Ohmae pg 1). ). In fact, one might say that ?Globalization is the international system which has replaced the cold war system? ( Friedman pg 25). It was at this time, after the end of the Cold war, that people who were often-times considered ?voiceless or invisible?, mostly what we consider today to be ?developing countries?, came forward with economic demands, and more importantly the desire to become a part of the expanding global economy. And so Economic Globalization began to occur at an incredibly rapid rate (Ohmae pg 1). Perhaps the greatest evidence available supporting the claim that Globalization is in fact occurring at a much faster rate than before is the increase of visible multinational corporations.
